Staring at a ceiling fan doesn't spark much thought in most people's minds. But it does for me. I figured I should share because you never know when you'll be staring at a ceiling fan.
Theres not much exciting about being a ceiling fan. Someone jerks your chain and it sends you off into a whirling tizzy. If you're one of the lucky ones the more often you get jerked around the slowly the whirling becomes.
But despite the mundane and repetitive reality of a being a ceiling fan I suppose it's kind of cool to serve a purpose that brings relief to people in need. But what I find fascinating is that a fan provides the relief even in the midst of turmoil. Can you say that you shine light to those in darkness? even after they've pushed your buttons or yanked your chain? Does your presents and ability to do the same task over and over again bring a refreshing breeze to those who are around you? Can you consider yourself a model of consistency?
Yeah your life might be mundane and boring. Mine seems that way sometimes. But there are nights, like tonight, that I'm really happy I have a mundane boring ceiling fan. Because I suppose I realized how inspirational the boring and mundane can be- if you just look up and watch.
